What do you mean with "remove"? If it is sufficient to hide the
shortcuts, move them away from the START MENU and DESKTOP folders in
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS. You can find profile folders in
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS as well and in them DESKTOP and START MENU
folders to assign items to special profiles only.

Hi,
Here is what I need to do: remove Instant Messenger and
Yahoo chat from only one limited user account, and leave
them available for all other accounts. If I remove them
from the all users folder, won't that remove them from use
for the other users also?
Thanks in advance,

Easy....copy the 'all users' desktop folder to every other users desktop
folder and then delete the shortcuts for the programs that you don't want a
user to see from their desktop folder.....
Harder solution:
Find the program executable and set the file permissions so that only the
users you want using them can access them,>>><right click>..<select
properties>...<security> and remove any users you don't want to have access
to the program....I would try the first solution before the second....it's
easier and you don't have to remember what you did six months later.....
Cwa..........
cwa.....
