View Full Version : Unable to Shutdown

My CPU (naturally) has begun to refuse to accept the command to log off or
turn off the computer. I have tried Ctrl/Alt/Del without success. My only
option is, as I see it, to shut down the computer from the mains (wall
plug). As this is supposedly not wise, can anyone give me a hint how to shut
the computer down? Thanks in advance. David.

Try this: "Resources to Help Troubleshoot Shutdown Problems in Windows
XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308029).

I had that problem and the trick for me was uninstalling Easy CD Creators
'Direct CD' program -- then it shut down!
