Donna, I have an HP Deskjet 1000 and XP does not support
it. HP has no drivers available to upgrade to XP, so I
have to get rid of the printer. Your problem may be the
same. Contact HP and see if they have a driver for your
printer that is compatible with XP.

Drivers for the HP Deskjet 1000 are included in XP.
