HELP!!! Task Bar Pop Ups

Is there way way to disable instant messenger and other
programs from popping up orange in the task bar? It does
this whether the task bar is hidden or visable!

Any help wuopld be appreciated!

You can relax. That orange buiness is normal. It happens to me too. Its XP's way of saying "This program is running, and needs your attention". I get it all the time when I update virus signatures. Its a little unsettling, but you'll get used to it.

Not completely, Lori. A workaround hasn't been found natively. You can
change the amount of blinks, etc but not disable the function. Suggestions:

Prevent Programs from Stealing Focus - Undo (Line 66)

When a window that does not have focus is updated by its program, the
default setting prevents it from becoming the foremost (top) window,
instead, it flashes in the taskbar.

HeldUp is the easiest way to stop windows from disappearing behind other
