View Full Version : Can't print unless I uninstall/reinstall Drivers

I have an HP 930c printer running on windows XP. Whenever
I reboot the computer, I am unable to print.

More specifically, when I hit print, the icon appears and
the procees seems to be working. Nothing actually prints,
however. If I then uninstall the printer port and search
for hardware changes in the hardware device menu, the
printer is re-discovered and everything prints perfectly.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what I can do to not
have to uninstall/reinstall the port every time I turn on
the computer?

Thanks.

Ensure the LPT port is set to EPP in the BIOS.

If you're using USB try disabling the 'power saver' mode
on the USB root hubs. Go to the device manager and click
on the + sign next to Universal Serial Bus Controller.
Then double click the root hub. Click the 'Power
Management' and uncheck the box that says 'Allow computer
to turn off this device etc...'. Then restart your
computer and see if you have printing capabilities. You
may also try disabling the hibernation mode.

If it's parallel try downloading the updated driver from
HP for Windows XP. You may also try this for USB also.

Last resort is to check for updates for your USB chipset.
