How to install Win XP on a removeable hard drive

As above, please help to advise.
Everytime i finish installing, XP won't start with error
msg that i need to chkdsk /f or it need to be stopped
since something wrong.

Please help

Have you run c:\chkdsk [Drive Letter] /f
