making mailing labels

I am new to Windows. Have been a Mac user for 11 years.
This morning I made a directory of 96 names and addresses
to merge to Avery standard mailing labels. My directory
didn't merge and every other way I have attempted has
failed. Anyway I can get back those 96 entries and then,
how to merge them to labels. With my Mac, no such
problems

What program are you using to create the labels?

What brand and type of label stationery are you using?
If A4 sheets, how many labels across / down per sheet
