Internet Explorer 6 problem

My OS is Windows XP Home and I am using Internet Explorer v.6

My problen concerns the botton of the IE window.
I used to have a little tray in the bottom of the window that informed me if
there was on error on the page, or showed a padlock when I was on a secure
site and also showed when a 'no entery' sign when a cookie had been blocked.

This little section at the bottom of the window has now disappeared!
Can anyone tell me how I can get it back again and make it stay there?

Any help would be appreciated.

Klick View > Status Bar. Hold down CTRL while you close the IE window
to make the change permanent.
