Since two weeks the only way to close IE windows is by killing them in Task
Manager?
I also get repeated box messages that I'm working off-line, tick "Yes" to
work on-line...This message repeats 3-4 times when I go to windows Explorer,
which shouldn't need to be "on-line"...
Anybody...?

Your network administrator or someone playing a prank on you may have put a
registry setting in place that stops the user from exiting IE.

I do not have the information as to which registry key gives the option to
stop closing IE but there is information on the net which tells you how to
put this option in place. Generally it will tell you to set a value to 1. To
disable it you would set the key to 0.

Try an advanced search on google with all the words:
stop close registry
and one of the words:
IE internet explorer.

The sites that would appear also tell you some of the other things you can
do such as removing the start > run or start > control panel settings.
