Fast User Switching is Killing my Mouse

Running XP Pro (SP1)... all patches and updates applied...

I use a 3-button +wheel Logitech Wireless Optical Mouse connected to the
PS/2 port... latest version of the Logitech software and drivers
installed... There's a process which controls the mouse that runs on
boot... actually, MSCONFIG shows a launcher program... LOGI_MWX.EXE that
starts the process... EM_EXEC.EXE that is being killed when fast user
switching is employed...

When I use Fast User Switching and then log back into to my original
session, the process is gone and the mouse settings are haywire (the mouse
still works but the buttons are not assigned properly... If I run the
launcher, the process and mouse settings are restored... for now I've just
created a short-cut to restart the launcher, but I'm wondering what/how/why
Fast User Switching is killing the mouse process and what might be done
about it... I don't see any Services that are specific to the mouse, though
the process (not a service) is showing as user specific and not as Local or
System process...
