I have a hard drive that I put in a USB 2.0 enclosure to connect it via USB
to my PC. My Soyo Dragon Kt333 came with a USB pannel that has 4 USB 2.0
ports that is put in one of the bays in the front of the tower. Transfering
20Gigs to the external hd takes more than 7 hours, so I assumed that it was
using somehow a USB 1 root hub. I confirmed this when I went to device
manager. I also found this in there:

1 USB 2.0 Root Hub,
4 VIA REV 5 USB Controllers
1 USB 2.0 Host controller
4 USB Root Hubs
1 OnSpecUSB IDE Hard Drive

The Onspec Hard Drive can be found in one of the USB root hubs' Power tabs,
so this means it is connected to that hub. Anyway, I cannot make the drive
appear on the USB 2.0 Hub, so this is why the speed is too slow. I already
tried to update all the drivers of all the USB devices in there as is
suggested in some posts in this newsgroup and only two of the four VIA Rev 5
Controllers were updated, it always says a
better driver could not be found. There was also another article in the MS
Knowledge Base about this, that said that the driver models should be
5.1.2600.1106 with a date of 29 Aug 2002, but mine are 5.1.2600.0 with a
date of 1 July 2001, except the ones that were updated. Like I said, I
cannot update the other drivers, I have XP Pro
and the SP1 installed.

Please send me your suggestions to silve my problem.
