Standby mode

When I put my computer on Standby, it goes through steps to begin standing by.>But when I return to continue working, my screen is blackish blue and the hour glass is in the middle of the screen and not responding.>I have to manually shut down and restart

You probably have some hardware or drivers that prevent Standby from
working correctly. Updating drivers may solve them.
