Hi,

Even a USB 1.1 port should not take more than 7 hours to
transfer 20 gigs data. There must be something wrong with
your USB ports or drivers problems. Also I think you have
downloaded SP1 before you get the USB 2.0 card so that
you cannot get the updated driver. Pls try reinstall SP1
again.
My USB 2.0 MS driver version is 5.1.2600.1106 and I use
Intel 845 chipset. I installed the USB2.0 drivers from
the Mobo CD and than download SP1 and update the USB 2.0
drivers.

Hey Peter, unfortunately I had to reformat my system hard drive and install
everthing from scratch.I already installed SP1 and then installed the USB 2
drivers of my Mobo. Now the USB 2 Root hub turned into USB Root Hub with the
5.1.2600.1106 drivers and two VIA REV 5 USB Controllers turned into VIA REV
5 USB Universal Host Companion Controller with drivers 5.1.2600.1106. But
still the transfer rate is as slow as hell and I'm beginning to get
mad...Any more suggestions?

With SP 1 installed, delete the USB hubs from the device tree in
device manager. Shut down (power off state). When the machine
reboots it should detect the hubs and install the CORRECT USB 2.0
drivers.
