CD-Rom disappear after 10 minute after start winXP

I setup windowsXP Professional newly. I have a problem on CD-Rom.

CD-Rom disappear after 10 minute after start winXP.

What can I do?

There's seems to be a lot of these going around. I loaded Windows
2000 on my other drive....same thing. The CD-RW would disappear or
become not accessible. Then, I loaded Windows 98, and viola! it
works. I tested it by letting the PC run all night long. Come the
next moring I had no troubles burning.

Sad, but for now, I have to resort to rebooting to my Win98 when I
want to burn stuff. :((

I also have Creative DVD and that one works fine. I'm almost thinking
about buying a Creative CD-RW.
