Update windows messenger

When I start outlook express I keep getting a dialogue box insisting that I
must update windows messenger. I do not use messenger - so how do i stop
this irritating meg from popping up please guys?
I have recently instaled the free windows security update cd feb 2004 from
M$.

Greetings Adrian,

To stop this, close Outlook Express, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg

After this, Windows Messenger will no longer be started with Outlook Express, so you won't
see this message.

This is what I was told to do:
