View Full Version : All my folders are in read-only and can't be changed back

Hi, the subject explains it. I noticed one day that every
single one of my folders (but not the files inside) are
in read-only mode. When I unclick the read-only box in
Properties and then click OK, it'll immediately revert
back to being a read-only folder. Even when I create new
folders they are by default converted into read-only
folders. Why is this?

XP makes folders read-only by design. See the following article for details.
