My welcome screen used to load my personal information
and come on almost immediately. Now this process takes
5-6 minutes to happen. I recently did a system reinstall.
Could this be the reason?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1) Try updating the drivers for your hardware.
2) Use a program called Bootcvis which is downloadable from microsofts
website. It rearranges drivers to load in a different order. While some
drivers wait for hardware to respond, the system can continue loading more
drivers. This program will look for slow loading drivers and re-organise
them for best order for performance.

If you have downloaded and installed Critical/Security Update Q811493,
remove it.
