To re-enable the full POST, you'll need to go into the BIOS (hardware) setup
and turn it on. It's often hidden under a term like "Quick Boot" or "Fast
POST".
To determine your motherboard type, press the Pause key while the memory or
drive enumeration is active so you can see the boot-up screen. It may be
hidden by a graphic logo, which you'd also need to disable in BIOS setup
(often hidden by "Quiet Boot" or some similar setting) and see if there's a
string of letters/numbers at the bottom left hand corner of the screen. If
so, write them down and then try the "Wim's BIOS" web site at
http://www.wimsbios.com/ to see if they can be deciphered.
If this is a store-bought system the best source of information would be the
actual manufacturer of the computer.
