I can't seem to get XP pro to save a open folder on the desktop.
I did try Tweakui, does not seem to be an option anymore.
Did I miss a setting somewhere?

What do you mean? To put a link to a folder on the Desktop drag the
folder from the Explorer to a free place of the Desktop while pressing
SHIFT.

What I have is an open folder with my most used programs.
If I leave the folder open and end my windows session
when I restart the folder is closed, Tweakui used to have
a save desktop settings that would re-open the folder
as it was when shut down.
