i had a lot of email in win98. when i upgraded to xp all
the old email was gone. how do i find it and load it
back in again

Speaking of more email, expect more now, as you seemed to have posted using
your actual email address. Please note that you should not open attachments
you did not expect and that the email that looks like it is official (like
from Microsoft) is NOT.

Assuming Outlook Express:
If you were using OE 5 or higher before, search your hard drive for
Inbox.dbx
(If you are using Win2K or WinXP you will have to set the search to include
hidden files and folders.)

If you find two copies, use OE's File | Import | Messages | Microsoft
Outlook Express 6 and choose to import from an OE6 store directory. Browse
to the folder holding the older Inbox.dbx.
