Hi all,
I just bought a new xp pro computer and am trying to set it up so that I
won't have to enter a password or login when Windows starts.
Is it possible? Right now, I have to click on an icon to start Windows
which is a bit of a inconvenience. For info, this is for a standalone PC
(not on a network) and just for my personal use. It doesn't need to be
protected in any way.
Thanks,

Jean-Marc

TweakUI can be set up to Automatically log you in so the Welcome screen will
be bypassed.

That's what they all say, until someone uses your unprotected machine to
hack the Pentagon and it traces back to you and your family first..

But anyway..

Get TweakUI from Microsoft.. It has what you need as well as a lot of other
things.. Just go to http://www.microsoft.com/ and search for "TweakUI". It
is a Windows XP Powertoy.

Type in Start Run
control userpasswords2

And clear the tick "Users Must Enter A Name and Password".

If you only have one user and no password it logs on automatically.
