Can anyone help.
I am still running Windows 98 which I find ok. I have now
also installed Windows XP and I am concerned that if I go
with XP I may have problems with my SCSI drive.
I have a HP scanner attached via a SCSI drive.
Will this be ok if I use Windows XP only.

I don't know which particular model scanner you have, but it may still work
if XP detects it and lists it as a later model that still allows it to
operate. I have an HP 4-C scannner I bought back in 1997 (a scsi model
legal size scanner). This model is too old for HP to develope a WindowsXP
driver. However, when I installed XP (a clean install after reformatting my
C: partition), Windows reconized my scanner model as a 6100C. I needed to
download the later Desckscan II software (the scanning software actually
used to do scans) because the original Deskscan software was not compatable
with XP. I originally set my system as a dual-boot system with both
Win98SE2 and WinXP so use 98 for scanning, but once I got the DeskscanII
software I no longer needed Win98.
