WinXP will not recognise my new hard drive. After having
formatted originally etc I went into win 98 to partitiion -
not realising I could have done this in XP - Now it
simply says that there is nothing there. Diagnostic tool
hangs up on message: all.part 2 is null, not an object.

Help!

Go into XP.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. On the following screen,
select Disk Management. The new drive should show up on the right hand side
of the screen (if it is correctly configured in the BIOS) and you can
partition it, format it and assign it a drive letter from here - providing
it is not your boot drive)
