View Full Version : re-installing windows xp on a reformatted drive

I had some problems with my harddrive so I reformatted it
and began reloading windows xp. The setup process gets
through about 5 of the 39 minutes and then gives me a blue
screen with Stop: 0x000000c5. The screen instructs me to
use driver verifier, and I would be more than happy to do
this, but the documentation I found on running driver
verifier tells me to change the registry from windows. I
can't run windows if I can't finish setup. I've tried
running driver verifier from the windows recovery screen,
but it doesn't recognize it at all. I've done chkdsk /r
and fixed some problems on the drive, but I'm still
getting the same message. Any help I can get on this
problem would be greatly appreciated.
