View Full Version : Question regarding Pagefile.sys

Even though my pagefile is set to 758mb min and max, and Sysinfo shows it
as existing, performance monitor shows it as being used, and the
pagefile.sys= command is in the Registry, I can't find the file!
I'm searching for the file, using find hidden and system files, and still I
can't see it in c:\, where the Registry tells me it's located.
Does anyone know why?
Thanks,
Kyle

YES! It's the same reason why you can't find Autoexec.bat
and / or config.sys - they are SUPER-secret thingys.
IF you go to Windows Explorer and go to tools, Folder
Options, View, and UN-CHECK "Hide protected operating system
files" THEN you will be able to see the paging file.
Warning - VERY VERY VERY bad mojo to leave that set that
way. First, a virus will then be able to see the backup
recovery files that have been kept safe and sound (well,
kinda) all this time and eat them. So use it, look, play, and
then PUT IT BACK - my best advice.
Have fun! :)
