This may sound really silly but I have a lot of programs
installed and when I go to programs from the start menu
the list is 4 columns long and goes off the page and I
can't see the last ones. Is there a way to move these
columns so I can view them.
Thanks for anyones help,
regards,
Dianne.

Dianne,
You have two options. Right click the Start button, select Properties,
Customize, and locate the option for Scroll Programs. Check this off, and
you'll get a single scrolling column.
Otherwise, right click the Start button, select Explore and/or Explore All
Users. In the Explorer window(s) that open, go into the Programs folder and
re-arrange the shortcuts and folders so that you don't have so many first
level folders.

You can use the draging and dropping feature of items on the start menu and
programs menu to tidy up the list or by going into the start menu properties
applet, you can set the menus to scroll if they go off screen.

You could change it to scroll the programs instead. To do this right
click on the task bar and goto properties. Once there click the start
menu tab and click the customize button. In the list box at the
bottom find and check scroll programs.
