View Full Version : day and month invert

Now I know why all these 30-day evaluation licenses evaporate right
away. It's because this stupid thing interprets the day as the month
and the month as the day on startup. So today, April 10th, everytime I
boot up, I get told it's October 4th. Tomorrow it'll be November 4th.
This is ****ing me off beyond my wildest dreams. I only know what
I've already tried, which is making sure the bios date is in order (it
is) and rechecking my regional settings. I tried changing all my
region settings to what they already were, and clicked Ok, hoping that
it would force a change in whatever pain-in-the-ass routine is getting
it wrong. It seemed to work for a couple of boots, but now it's back
again, and here to stay.

In 2 days it will be the 13th month. Then what will you think?

You say that you've already checked regional settings and that looks
okay. (Date and month format is what you expected it to be?)

All that's left is the how the timer mechanism in the software is
interpreting those settings. Have you contacted the software vendor
about the regional date problem? They would probably be interested in
finding this out and may be able to do something about adjusting your
evaluation period.

I guess we'll never know. My whole system started crashing down, so
I did repair install (NOT A CLEAN INSTALL!!!) and the problem went
away. Maybe I should have held on for a few days longer, just for
kicks.

Shucks. You missed out on the creative opportunity of naming the extra
months. Oh well. Glad to hear everything is working okay now.
