Hi

I have a laptop with XP Pro installed, I am trying to
connect a Nokia 7210 phone via Infrared but wireless link
does not detect my phone, the phone works ok if I connect
to a laptop with 98SE installed so its not the phone, I
have also tried this on a pc with XP Pro and the same
happens there.

How do I get the two devices communicating with each
other, do I need some other software( Ialready have all of
Nokias Software installed but it still does not work).

Any ideas would be very grateful

Regards

Wayne

I'm also having a problem with IrDA with XP and my Nokia 6210/Palm Vx.

I recently upgraded my motherboard and now the IR port won't work. XP
says everything is OK, installs the drivers OK and sits there looking
like it's going to work but just won't recognise any devices.

I've also reinstalled XP but that doesn't seem to have fixed things.

So, thinking that it's the motherboard, I bought a Sitecom USB-IrDA
cable but I still have the same problem. The drivers install OK but
just don't do anything when an IR device is pointing at the receiver.

I tried the Sitecom USB-IrDA device on another practically identical
PC (same MB/same OS) and it works perfectly so I think it's some sort
of conflict/corruption/missing file on this PC of some kind.

MS Technet has suspiciously few mentions of problems regarding IrDA,
especially considering the rest of USENET seems to be swamped with
IrDA problems without answers.

Any help would be great.
