Hi there!

My Windows XP Home SP1 (pre-installed) fails to auto-detect my Realtek 8029
network adapter. I checked the hardware profile manually and all seems
well. In case it helps the hardware profile looks like this:

VEN_10EC&DEV_8029&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_00&CC_020000

The first two look right, I'm only a bit confused by the many zeroes.
I'm not sure wether this is a Win XP problem or maybe a PCI/BIOS problem.
The card works under Win98 and Win2000 so it can't be a hardware failure.

Any ideas?

Regards!

Boris Bauer

Hello

Well try and make sure you have to latest drivers or you may want
to just replace the card.

not to be to much of a smart ass.. things usually work until they break!¡!¡
I would personally say try a different port in the machine. but keep in mind
as well that some realtec cards aren't auto detected until you find the
correct updates from microsoft. good luck with that and let me know how
things turn out.
