I am awaiting a replacement ata133 60 gig drive from
Maxtor and using the opportunity to upgrade to XP Home. I
reinstalled WinME on a 12 gig IBM ata100 drive with no
aps, not even changing the default video so hope all will
go well with the upgrade. I left the IBM HD on the ata133
card.

Anyhow, will the ATA133 controller prevent XP from
creating restore points? It did this in WinME. My MB has
an ata100 so I will remove the ata133 if it interferes.
Also - I assume I can install a single 60 gig volume,
right?
Thanks!

Hmm. First...yes; you CAN configure a single 60G volume on the new drive
for XP-H.

As far as the 133 card goes, you shouldn't have any trouble at all. You
don't mention the manuf of the card...but there's an excellent chance that
XP has native drivers for it...which it will load during the set-up. In the
unlikely event that XP does NOT have drivers for your card, it might be a
sharp idea to copy a set onto a floppy...which you can pop in when XP asks
if you want to load any supplementary drivers (during the initial boot-up
from the CD). If XP DOES have native drivers...it will tell you so at that
point, and ask if you still want to use the drivers on the floppy. If the
drivers are quite new, then say yes.

Please post a follow-up.
