gameport

I am using a MS Sidewinder USB Gamepad, have been for
about three weeks. Since friday, i have not been able to
use the gamepad. Windows does not recognize when i plug
it into my USB.

I tried to manulaly install thru control panel and when i
did got the error "Your gameport or gameport drivers are
not configuredly properly. Consult the Device Manager. I
can find nothing wrong in DM and am unable to fix the
problem.

any ideas?
