Driver Download

I have Windows XP Professional and am trying to install
an Epson Stylus Color II for Windows 3.1 Ink Jet
Printer. I get an error message that it 'Can't Run on 16-
bit Windows Program'. Epson says it's a Microsoft
issue. It requires a 32-bit driver. What do I need to
do to download this from the Internet? Thanks.

You're trying to install Windows3.1 drivers on an XP PC..... no go! And
rightfully so. Epson should have told you the drivers are included with XP,
but support for this unit ended last century.

This printer is over ten years old... it should really be retired, as there
are plenty of new cheaper, much faster and more economical units available
but if you really must...

Disconnect printer from PC..... Use the Add Printer Wizard to install....
the driver you are looking for should be called Epson Stylus Color II ESC/P
2.

Connect the printer ONLY when the software tells you to do so.

I was thinking when I typed that post yesterday, if I ever came across an
old DOS/Windows 3.x PC could I actually remember how to install a
printer.... and the answer was 'No'! Now that's scarey since I clearly do
remember installing some Panasonic dot matrix thing on a 486DX 33! It
worked fine. But how I did it, I have no idea!
