I don't have permissions at school to import .reg files, but I can install
programs that modify the registry. I'm thinking if there is a program that
can write the .reg files to the registry, I could use that to import a reg
file. Does such a program exist?

It's the school's computers, right? Discuss this with the IT department
at the school for how your needs can be met.
Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

The system admins at school are keeping students from writing to the
registry for good reasons. I'm suprised you're allowed to install
programs. They are not YOUR computers. Play by the rules.

I am surprised also as trojans, Virii can get on the system from what you
install if it`s from dubious sources. If i was the ADMIN i would disable the
" control panel " and disable " Windows Installer " so people couldn`t do
what the previous poster to Steve can.
