I have a LG Studioworks 77i and i have downed the "XP-Monitordriver.html"
from http://www.lgeservice.com/monitor.htm
which is in fact a zip file and when i go through XP install and get to
desktop it keeps defaulting back to plug and play monitor and will not stay
as LG 77i monitor i have even tried 2000 drivers and still nothing so guys
do i have to shell out for a new monitor now? hope not.

Consider just leaving it as XP wants it if the monitor works well, and is
operating in a reasonable refresh rate range - perhaps 75-85.

Did you unzip the file before trying to run the update?
You might install the driver you want, then delete the
monitor and let plug and play discover it again and maybe it
will find the updated driver.
Did you used the "update driver" app from the device
manager?
