Disappearing Taskbar Icons

The icons on my taskbar often will not show up when Windows starts. This
<seems> to be related to the installation of Norton AntiVirus 2003 or 2004.
I understand the "hide unused icons" feature, and this is not what I'm
having problems with as the same thing occurs when this feature is disabled.

Hi Blaine,

There are some programs that need to be restarted that don't appear and
other reasons for the Notification Icons to disappear as you say (not
Taskbar icons - those are minimized). More information and help here:
