OK i have recently upgraded to XP, but then my computer
crashed and I had to reinstall, and i Re Upgraded
(professional edition), But upon doing so, my Modem,
which is a standard 56k does not register or work,
although i plugged in a 28.8 modem from LOOONG ago and it
doesnt show up on the lists, but i can acess the internet
just fine. This is odd, and ive had a lot of odd things
on my computer like this... but i cant seem to fix this
one. This doesnt make since to me... then i thought
maybe the modem was bad... but it worked in another
computer so it HAS to be mine. If ANYONE could email me
with the subject MODEM SUPPORT in the box, Id be very
greatful, posting on here would sorta be helpful to anyone
else but me, due to the fact the 28.8 cannot access this
site properly(iam on a public computer right now) Please
help me. ~ Skyler

( and i know AOL is a part of the problem)

Sounds like a resident driver/software package could be the issue here, did
you try re-installing all the software for the modem itself? Or, as the
modem works in the other machine you tested, how about testing that PCI
slot?
