The Windows XP Home version on my new Dell computer will
not allow two scanners (digital imaging devices) to be
connected to the USB ports at the same time. According
to the tech at HP, I have to plug in the one I intend to
use, before booting the computer. When I want to switch
to the other one, the computer has to be shut off, so I
can change the scanner plugged into the USB port. The
the computer is then restarted. Quite inconvenient for a
system that is so sophisticated in every other way.
Any suggestions? Is there a "fix" for this? Is this a
Windows XP problem, as the tech declared, or is the
trouble with the HP software (both scanners are HP
products)?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
