Hello -

I would like to put a message, "SERVER", identifying a computer on its
desktop.

I have done this by making a web document in Microsoft Word with the word
"SERVER" and installing it as wallpaper, but this way the background color
is white.

Is there another way to do this?

Thanks

Drew

Use graphic app like photo impact to add text to a pic
and then stretch it as wallpaper to get a softer
rendition of text. Think it has to be .BMP.

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

Wallpaper in XP can be a jpg file too. Better to make the file sued the
same size as the desktop, to give you more control on appearance
