I have a MS MultiMedia Keyboard on WinXP Pro.
Anyone know how I can always have the Function Key to default on on setup?
This is just like having the num lock always toggled to on at boot.

The F-Lock key is set by hardware and the Num Lock is set by
the software (BIOS or OS).

I have the same keyboard, the only time I find a problem is
when wanting to press F2 to enter the BIOS, but I have found
that it isn't really a problem to press F-Lock as soon as
the computer is turned on if you think about it.

Interesting....

I would suspect that NumLock is controled by the BIOS and the FLock by the
OS.
However, I still think there is a setting in the registry.

If anyone at Microsoft checks these boards....

Could you please explain why the FLock key
A) can't remeber the last setting
OR
B) the keep FLock on isn't built into the application
OR
C) A user has to press a key to get standard functionality?
My personal opinon is that it should be the other way.
The keyboard should default to standard keys and the user has to press FLock
to get the enchanced features. I think this makes more sense, both from a
practical point and a ease of use point.

I really like this keyboard; it might be the best I ever used.
If you are looking for ideas to improve it, I urge you to consider a
solution to this small but annoying issue.

If, by some reason, I'm not using the keyboard correctly, someone please
point it out to me.

The F Lock key is not programmatically controlable.

However, see this page for a workaround
