Please help! Every application I use, every time I click
my mouse, I get a corrupt file notice and it says to run
the chkdsk utility. How do I do that?

Open My Computer and right-click on the drive you wish to check for errors.
Select 'Properties' from the menu and then select the 'Tools' tab. Click on
the button called 'Check Now.'

There are two types of disk error checking. The first test (...fix...)
checks for and attempts to repair logical errors, while the second test
(...repair...) checks for physical damage on the surface of the disk. Run
both tests.

One thing to keep in mind is that you cannot run the 'fix' test on the
Windows partition from within Windows. You'll get a message asking if you
want to schedule the test the next time your computer starts. Do so.
