I am having trouble sending a fax. It all seems to be
configured right (and shows ready), but when it tries to
send, it gives the following message: NO DIAL TONE. THE
PHONE LINE IS IN USE. However, I know the person is at
the other end waiting. It is as if it gives up too easy
before the number would normally be finished dialing.
Please help.

Thanks

And are you using an analogue modem, which is correctly configured and
connected directly to a phone line?

My modem is a SupraMAX56i - connected through DSL to
internet (SpeedStream)phone line into SpeedStream as
well. According to "FaxConsole" everything is configured
right.

Well there's your problem - you can't fax with DSL! You need to plug the 56K
into a DSL filter socket.
