I have a new computer running Windows XP and I can't
figure out how to create a partition on my hard disk.
Can someone help?
Thanks!

The only way to create partitions (and preserve your existing Windows XP =
installation),
is to purchase a sophisticated third-party partitioning program, such a =
Partition Magic 8
(www.powerquest.com). Otherwise, you would have to start from scratch =
and delete
your primary partition, create two partitions, format the new partition, =
and reinstall Windows XP.

Chet;
If your hard drive is partitioned to a single partition with no free
space, you can not use Disk Management.
Disk Management can only modify partitions not including the OS:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3ben-us%3b309000
To modify the partitions without losing data, you need a 3rd party
application:
http://www.bootitng.com/
http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/
You can also start over with a Clean Installation (destroying all
data) partition the drive as you need.
This option is not always available with OEM restore CDs.

Thanks Nicholas, it sounds like it might be easier to buy
an additional HD and install it.
