When using the Backup Wizard to backup my files and
system data, at the beginning when I am asked for the
desination and name of the backup, regardless what name I
type "Backup 1", "Macs Backup", etc. it kepps telling
that the name is not acceptable and to ensure that I have
the correct path, and if I type in F:\Backup 1, this is
still not accepted. I cannot progress past this stage and
therfore cannot Backup my System or Files

Can anyone tell me what kind of name or what shout be
typed in this space.

Regards,

Malcolm Brown

Try a name without spaces; stick to the characters a-z & 0-9.

If you are using the backup app included with XP, NTBACKUP, you
can use long file names, but spaces are rather tricky with Windows.
If you are using some other backup app, you may need to use a
really simple (8.3) file name.

Hmm. I believe that you must first select a [destination] drive & folder
(which "exists") BEFORE you provide a file name. Could this be the problem?

Please post a follow-up.
