Tape Back-Up Not Working on XP

I have hooked up my tape backup on the Parallel port and can't seem to get
it work. I am one of those old guys still likes to back things up on tape.

Any suggestions as it does show up in my hardware settings?

Look up your tape drive in the XP HCL (Hardware Compatibility List)
on the M$ website. Good luck; IIRC, parallel port tapes are not
supported on XP.

If there is no XP built-in support for that tape drive, you can try
the tape drive vendor's website -- they may have a driver for it.
You may also need some higher-level software from the backup app
vendor to run under XP.
