I have an HP computer with AMDAthalon at 900 MZ, 512MB
Ram, and 60 GB hard drive. I am operating with Windows XP
Professional, upgraded from Windows 98 SE.

When trying to scan with my Umax Powerlook III scanner,
using Photoshop 7, I get an error message, "Memory
Allocate Error", with instructions to re-start Windows or
to re-boot my computer. I can't find a help reference for
this error message.

I am scanning 6x6 cm transparancies with file sizes as
large at 82mb. Did not have the problem with Windows 98SE

Try updating the scanner software from Umax's website.
