XP repair

While trying to access Add/Remove Windows Components I
received the following message:
Setup was unable to open information file setupqry..
Contact your system adminstrator. The specific error
code is 0x2 at line 2011777033.

I assumed I had accidentally deleted a system file so I
thought I could rectify it by using the Windows XP start
up disc to repair it but I still get the same error

message when I try to do it.

Anybody any ideas?
