pop up that keeps coming back

hi,I'm having a problem with a popup that will not go
away.It says the following:Do you want 2 allow software
such as activex controls and plug ins? whether or not I
say y or n it then says settings are prohibited page may
not display and comes back repeatedly.Can anyone help?

Peg, this is probably "spyware" on your computer. Use Lavasoft's ad-aware to seek and destroy the offending files. You may also want to empty your temporary internet files with a disk clean-up.
