HELP, Mouse problems

My mouse is not registing with my computer, the problem
is it wont move it just sits there. The buttons dont even
work. But when I go and change the type of pointer it is
or press Ctrl to find it, it always finds and changes it
so the computer must know it is there but why wont it
move. The mouse comes with the computer it isnt a
different one. I have cleaned the ball, taken plug out to
see it it will automatically find it but is dosent. I
have check all my USB ports and they are fine to. Help

Try a different mouse. The wires inside the cord take a lot
of abuse, a wire could be broken.
