View Full Version : Turning off search assistant

Due to nothing I knowingly did, each time I do a search in IE, the search
assistant automatically opens up. I can't turn it off. Under view I see a
check mark next to it and disable it but it keeps coming back. I've been
into the internet options and fooled with lots of choices and still nothing.
Please help.

Paul,
Click search in IE, on top of the search frame there should be a 'customize'
button, click on it.
When you do it will open a new window with the search assistant options
right on top.
Hope this is what you were talking about.

Ben, thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, when I click the
'customize' button, nothing happens although I can search from there.
I'll keep trying.

You can try to uninstall and reinstall IE and see if that fixes it.
