I have decided to use 3rd party software instead of Internet Explorer &
Outlook Express. Is there a way to uninstall these as I don't intend to use
them anymore?

You will need to keep Internet Explorer in order to get
Windows Update. They don't take very much disk space, just
change your default browser and email. Try Mozilla. It is
free and works well www.mozilla.org

You can hide them but not remove them. Both are protected by the
system - and IE itself is integrated well within the operating system.
According to MS, it can not be removed.

However, you may be interested in the new version of Win2000\XP Lite
which will allow IE, OE, WMP, and many other MS items to be removed
from the OS. Go here for information and pricing:

Latest version was just released on 26 March. BTW, it's not
expensive. ($39 US)
